    1. Beautifully visual this book takes the reader to the Barrier Reef for some snorkeling, boating, romance and yes, a second chance. The author described the fish, the coral even the sounds so wonderfully I could almost feel the sand between my toes. The story was short and sweet. It's about the foolish actions of youth and facing mistakes head on. Romantic, sexy and fun this is the perfect quick read to leave you dreaming of a warm beach and a hot man.

    2. This is a very quick read. Perfect to sit down one afternoon for some reading pleasure. I read it on a very hot day so it was enjoyable to read about the cool ocean around the Island. It is simply a story of girl meets boy who she walked out on many years ago. However there are a few twists and turns in the renewed romance. Both have changed a great deal. She is out of work and because of something she did to him when they broke up, his work life has taken a completely different turn.

    3. Second Chance Island by Jenny Schwartz was a whirlwind read full of stunning characters that grab your attention from the first pages with drama mixed into a story that keeps the readers interest. With a backdrop of The Great Barrier Reef, heated interludes and "stardust" frolicking mixed into a story that made for a striking read.*ARC received from the Publisher

    4. I think Jenny Schwartz is the master of short romantic stories. Her plots never feel hurried or like the scenes are mashed together too closely, nor does the romance seem to be at hyper-speed. Her stories are always sensual with a little naughty twist on occasions. To use a makeup term, Jenny’s stories are ‘your life but better’ – they’re believable, yet give the reader that sense of escape. Second Chance Island is set in an idyllic tropical paradise – an island off Queensland, Austr [...]

    5. If you’re looking for a short romantic read set in paradise, you can’t go far wrong with this one. Four years ago Laura made a stupid mistake born of naivety, idealism and a little bit of panic and it ruined everything. When her funding for her project to conserve the Great Barrier Reef is cut she escapes to work on a friend’s tropical island. The last person she expects to meet there is the man she hurt so badly four years before.Life hasn’t worked out quite the way Phil anticipated – [...]

    6. This short novella does not lack any drama or action, from the first few pages you are thrown right into it. I love the setting of this novella, with a back drop of the Great Barrier Reef, this book just gleams sparkle and holidays. It took me back to my time in Australia and reminded me what a beautiful county it is. It is just over 40 pages, which makes it such an easy and quick read for the odd hour you have, I read this in one sitting in just under an hour and I was really swept up in the st [...]

    7. Laura is passionate about sea life and preserving it the best she and the environment can so when the funding on her marine biologist project gets cut, she is at a loss as to what to do to help the animals she was so close to helping and where she goes from here. When the opportunity to work on Topaz Island close to the Great Barrier Reef she jumps at the chance, under the understanding that this job is just a small stepping stone before she find out how to get her project reinstated or funding f [...]

    8. Second Chance Island is a fast read, but very entertaining and with very realistic characters. You can read it in one sitting.I love reunion stories, love them, and so of course I enjoyed this one. I think Australians are particularly good at writing contemporary romance characters, and very good at writing realistic dialogue. At first I was worried about the thing the heroine did to ruin the relationship the first time round. I wasn’t sure I could like her after that. But I think she was good [...]

    9. This is such a great read the setting is awesome a lovers reunited story that will have you turning the pages and reading it in one sitting as Laura and Phil rekindle their love and open up to one another it is a very sensual story as they learn to trust and put the past behind them. The back drop of the Great Barrier Reef adds to the sensuality don't miss this one I highly recommend it :). Thank you MS Schwartz for another great story I love a great novella.

    10. Actual rating 3.5 stars. An enjoyable light read, ideal for readers who like romance.I personally enjoyed the description of the setting more than the relationship - the writer clearly knows plenty about the Great Barrier Reef and made the island sound absolutely beautiful.I received a copy of this novella from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.
